Yeniköy House, built in 1957, is one of the remarkable examples of modernist architecture in Istanbul. It was redesigned for its new owners in 2001 by architect Nevzat Sayın.
Miné collaborated with Sayın in this project as an Interior and Product designer. All built-in furniture for the master room, children's room, play room, domestic workers' room, home-theatre, utility rooms and the cloakroom, and all sliding doors in the house were specifically designed. This was done by determining the needs, taste, and lifestyle of the household, through a custom design process, all produced by Cadro. Additionally, the lighting Dressed Up was designed especially for this house, for dinners and house events, with a shorter version designed for the guest bathroom. Moving Globe was also added to the list of special designs as a lighting fixture for the stairwell.
Miné described the Yeniköy House as “A White Calm Box” in Art Decor, which was redesigned by Sayın. From an architectural point of view, it can be observed as a white box but its interior contains various colours and lights used in joyful domestic activities by its creative owners.
