Dancing Red Slippers were created as a series of six pairs of felt slippers as part of the Field Work component for Slow Design: Body / Clothing / Memory under the PORTIZMIR 3 Triennale. The red slipper design referred to the mythical story of Dancing Red Shoes in the book Women Running with Wolves, which emphasises the vital importance of handcraft and creativity for women's souls.
These six pairs were shared with craftswomen in the Urla Public Education Center, where Miné asked them to add their artisan abilities and redesign them, reflecting their own stories into the designs. All the women’s work, including the stories tagged to the products, alongside Miné’s own designs, were exhibited as part of the PortIzmir 3 Triennale in Turk-Austro Tobacco Warehouse in Pasaport (21 March - 21 June, 2014)
