The main starting point for the design here is the user experience, the interaction between a product and its user...
Dressed Up was designed for the owners of the Yeniköy House, a family with an artistic lifestyle, always having arts and crafts activities with their kids at home. Miné was inspired by their lifestyle and imagined a lamp that could be dressed up by its user’s imagination and creativity. In this house, the lamp hanging over the dinner table could provide the means to dress it up as an artful activity for special occasions, making it a household item used for artistic activities in various occasions and parties.
The different scenarios can be seen in the pictures. The lamp can be dressed in different colours, changing the atmosphere it creates. Or any other material, like silicon strips can be used, representing spaghetti for a party night. Kids can even paint it to celebrate their daddy’s birthday.
