Bronze Bracelet and Ring, 2005

Gummy Metal is a two-piece handmade jewellery set, a bracelet and a ring. Its unique shape is carved by a dremel stylo as if being altered by your hand or fingers to give it a gum-like feeling despite being made of bronze -a hard material.

The wavy appearance of the bracelet is based on the movement of the hand while the bracelet is being put on the wrist. Imagine you have a circle in your hand and you are putting it on as a bracelet. Then, imagine it is made out of a gum-like material that is shaped by the movement of your hand and the bones that touch it. The same procedure applies to the ring too.
